1. Purpose and objectives


1.1. Promoting the the National Armed Forces and the profession of soldier;
1.2. To promote obstacle race (hereinafter referred to as OCR (obstacle course race)) for Latvian army, soldiers of NATO partner countries, employees of Ministry of Defense and Interior, inhabitants of Latvia;
1.3. Promote the patriotism of the population and create a sense of unity with soldiers in the race;
1.4. Increase the number of active athletes by involving citizens in sporting leisure activities;
1.5. Identify the strongest members of women, men, youth, as well as teams at different distances and age groups..

2. OCR


Trail running  where natural, artificial and mental obstacles of various difficulty levels must be overcome during running. The obstacle race provides strength, strength, agility, speed training and testing.

3. Organizer


The competition is organized by the Special Operations Command Special Operations Unit and the Forti Patria. Contact Information: patriatoughrun@gmail.com tel. 26138326.

4. General rules


4.1. Participants must be at least 14 years of age at the event;
4.2. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible person who signs the application form or has a parental or guardian's signed permission to participate in the competition;
4.3. The participant can apply only for one distance;
4.4. By signing up for the competition, participants confirm that they do not oppose the use of photos and video material taken by PATRIA TOUGH RUN for any PATRIA TOUGH RUN marketing and advertising activities;
4.5. It is forbidden to violate the instructions of the competition judges and organizers during the competition;
4.6. Organizers reserve the right to change and amend these Terms, Procedures and Requirements at any time before and during the Event by announcing it on www.patriatoughrun.lv;
4.7. Organizers are not responsible for possible injuries of participants during the competition;
4.8. Upon registration, each participant will be provided with an envelope with a number, a Sportident and participant's cuff. The cuff must be placed on the right hand before the start and must be visible throughout the race;
4.9. The time spent in the distance is fixed with the help of Sportident. At the finish, Sportident must be returned to the organizers. Penalty for not returning EUR 62;
4.10. Each participant of the competition confirms with his signature before the start of registration that he is acquainted with the competition regulations and takes full responsibility for the suitability of his health for the distance;
4.11. All participants must follow the principles of FAIR PLAY ; it includes:
4.11.1. Always act like you want others to treat you in relation to other participants, organizers, staff, volunteers;
4.11.2. Each participant is witnessing a new growing sport in Latvia, so we will create an event so that next time it would be interesting for the athletes to go to this competition;
4.11.3. Each participant follows to always be on a track marked with a bounding tape and directional pointing arrows in yellow. When leaving the track, the athlete must return to the track where he has left the track;
4.11.4. Participants may not arbitrarily change the track mark.

5.1. The track is built around natural obstacles (hills, sand and water) and artificial obstacles.
5.2. Participants can get to know the obstacles and test them up to the first start signal without disturbing other competitors;
5.3. Participants who permanently block other participants' progress on the obstacle and do not respond or violate judge’s instructions may be DISQUALIFIED;
5.4. Participants must immediately give way to an athlete approaching from the rear, when approaching athlete calls "Passing!";
5.5. The participant will be able to make repeated attempts to overcome obstacles through the individually labeled “RETRY” line. If the participant is unable to take the obstacle, then go to the judge who removes the participant's cuff. The participant continues the distance without the participant's cuff;
5.6. Help from viewers during the race, except for medical help, will be treated as a DISQUALIFICATION;
5.7. Time cap for all distances - 2h.

6. Participants


NAF soldiers, national guards, youth guards, NATO soldiers and residents of Latvia.

7. Clothing, equipment
7.1. Allowed- camelback,  elbow guards, knee guards, clothing according to weather conditions, The following equipment is
7.2. Pprohibited: any type of studded shoes (orienteering footwear) or football boots

8. Penalties


8.1. Failing an obstacle, remove the participant's cuff;
8.2. Disqualification for:
8.2.1. Not starting at the scheduled time
8.2.2. Intentionally crossing the boundaries of race track;

9. Venue and Time


The competition will take place at the LaurenĨi FISCHER ski center in Sigulda on 15 June, 2019.

10. Awarding


10.1. Participant will receive a commemorative medal;
10.2. 1st to 3rd place winners who have finished with the participant's cuff will receive award MEDAL.
